Kebangkitan Nasional Museum

On May 21, 2011, I went to visit a museum together with my friends is Amira, Ici, Nina, and Fitri. I visited museums is the Museum of National Awakening. At 10:00 am the day before I went to school to meet with other friends and continue the trip to the museum together. For Saturday, the museum closes at 2 pm. My friends and I immediately began the journey that was not in vain when he reached the place. National Awakening Museum itself is located in the area Monday, precisely on Jl. Abdul Rahman Saleh 26, Central Jakarta. This museum is the former of the House Stovia (Tot School Opleiding Van Inlandsche Arsten) the Medical school for sons of the earth people who come from various regions across Indonesia, the school is also known as the native doctor who founded the school in 1902.This building is used only for educational Stovia until 1920 then moved to Jl. Salemba. 6, because the old building no longer qualify for medical education. After a move to this building used to Salemba MULO (SMP), AMS (SMA) and the School Assistant Pharmacist in 1942 and used to shelter the former Dutch soldiers (as prisoners of war).Because on May 20, 1908 as the cradle of the movement's first national organization, ie Budi Utomo, then in April 1973 the Government of DKI Jakarta conduct the restoration of the building, and after the restoration is complete, the building was inaugurated by President Soeharto on May 20, 1974 under the name "Building National Awakening. As for the medical school that used to Stovia, now better known by the name of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, located in Salemba. After a long round and round looking for a location address, we finally found the building.Based on the information we get, the entry ticket price is Rp. 750, -. Finally, we also get into the building, the building looks quite old and quite spacious. Upon entering, we met the officer on duty noted the arrival of visitors. Apparently, the day of the National Awakening Museum is doing an exhibition. So we can get them for free without spending money. And the original ticket price is Rp. 2000, -, the information we got was not the latest. Inside this building, not just the rooms you have. There is a park with green grass that is very nice to look at and make this place more beautiful. We happened to coincide with a group of junior high and elementary schools who made this visit feel crowded and fun. And we began to visit each classroom / space in the building.
The National Revival Museum has many collections. There are many statues of national heroes faces. Because this building is a former medical building, so many collections relating to medicine and tools. These collections are placed in a room / classroom, complete with information and statues. The rooms are divided into four, namely Introduction to Space, Space Early Nationalist Movement, the National Space Awareness, National Movement Space, Space Ptopaganda Studie Fonds, Budi Utomo Memorial Room, Living Medical Equipment. For the third task, I'll take a few collections to be explained. First, according to the order of the first room, I walked into the room introduction. The first collection that I take is a statue with a face carved Dr. Soetomo. The statue is dark brown and just carve the face of Dr. Soetomo. This figure is berpenagruh greatly to the existence of this building and the very important role of medical schools in Indonesia which gave birth to an intelligent youth. Dr. Soetomo are founders of Budi Utomo, the movement of the first organizations in Indonesia. This figure born in Ngepeh, Loceret, Nganjuk, East Java on 30 July 1888 and died in Surabaya, East Java on May 30, 1938 at the age of 49 years. He is a physician who is famous for its generous and willing to help with sincerity.

VOC's ship

Continue to next room, this room is filled with collections relating to the VOC. I chose the ship used by the VOC to sail in Indonesia. VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie) is a Dutch trading company that has a monopoly for trading activities in Asia.Based on information from the museum, in 1596 for the first time a Dutch ship under the command of Cornelis de Houtman landed in Banten. Since then many merchant ships Bealnda come to Indonesia. to avoid competition among the Dutch merchants themselves, then in 1602 dubentuklah trading partnership that is named VOC. VOC getting things where it takes the impact of hostilities with the natives and the Dutch colonizers of Indonesia began in this century.

Spices

Next I chose a collection of spices, because there are quite many kinds of spices are there so me and my other friends decided to divide equally. But I will explain the spices in general. In ancient times, spices price is very expensive and hard to find. Incidentally, Indonesia is one country that produces an abundance of spices. Spices are mentioned, among others, nutmeg and mace, cloves, pepper and coffee tin. Spices in Indonesia is in the spotlight various countries of the West because it is so much and the price of spices in the world of world trade is very expensive.

Keris, the traditional weapon

Here there are also traditional weapons, one of which is kris. The resistance against the Dutch colonial Indonesia as a way of war. Armed resistance occurred in almost all regions in Indonesia each region has a traditional weapon that has characteristics such as: Keris (Javanese), Mandau (Borneo), the dagger (Sulawesi), and Rencong (Aceh).

Demonstration classes Stovia

Continue to the next room is the initial space of the national movement. Collection that I take is a demonstration class Stovia. In the demonstration described the atmosphere of a classroom complete with classroom supplies, student, and professor. STOVIA Students are required to live in the dormitory environment until they finish their education period, dormitory is located not far from the building. The long duration of education for the two stages, namely: Education is the preparation period for 2-3 years. And then Education Learning The Practice of Medical Sciences is 5-6 years.

Just next to them, there is further space is the space of national consciousness. Collection show the class of RA Kartini my attention. What is shown to the visitor an atmosphere similar to what's in the photograph at the time. There are many girls who sat Lesbian, reading books and listening to the teachings of RA Kartini. Kartini is a struggle for the rights of a woman. Ancient times, women are not allowed to attend school or activities outside the home. But thanks Kartini, the right of women to seek knowledge dierjuangkan by it. Until finally she can also get the same rights as men. The most famous of his is composed his own book, "Light After Dark". The information there is as follows, RAJepara Kartini was born on 21 April 1879. He realized in an effort to advance the nation's life should be sought instruction and education for women. Kartini's first effort was to establish a class in seambi pavilion Kartini, Jepara, held four times a week. His students learned reading, writing, tngan crafts, cooking, sewing. After Kartini died, his business continued with the establishment of Kartini schools in Semarang, Jakarta and other cities.
National movement in the room, there are many dioramas and important information regarding the beginning of the road trip of the National movement in Indonesia, which began with the founding of Budi Utomo, Indische Partij, Muhammadiyah, and so forth. I do not take pictures in this space because there is no collection that I want to put here.Furthermore, there is room Ptopaganda studie fonds. The ambiance of this room during a meeting between STOVIA Wahidin with students, to talk about the state of society in general is lagging behind in education, so comes the idea of Studie Fonds. I do not go into this room because at the time this room was dark and no one entered into. So we went through the room and immediately proceed to the next room. In the living memorial utomo mind, I also did not enter because the room was dark and closed.Stop us in a special room medical devices. There are many collections that caught my attention because the tools are very simple compared with the current tools used for the medical world. This room has instruments such as surgical equipment, X-ray equipment, microscopes, measuring instruments (scales), a tool obstetrics, respiratory aids, dentistry and ENT equipment, sterilizing medical equipment (a small machine which is used to sterilize equipment before use ), and others.

Medical surgical equipment

In one part of this building, we found the library. But unfortunately this library is locked so that we can not enter. We assume there are lots of Dutch-language books on medicine. The museum is a great place to visit, I think this museum is no less great and important as the National Museum. Although this place is small and not too many collections, but this place has a lot informas-critical information that may not previously known to us. Me and my friends do not memilihi National Museum because it has too many friends of our class took place. We wanted to try something new and I was very interested because the museum is associated with the medicine. If only the museum's improved a little longer, might be able to bring in more visitors because this place is one of the important museums.
